Blessed By The Blog

I'm not about to say "I don't believe it"! Some times people just gets too old to lie for fun. I heard a complaint on the 26th that caused my blood to gush through the aging channels. Someone really needs to help! I know that a lot of Associations and organizations are doing their best according to their settings, but something needs doing from the top-down. A person more elderly than I told me in her nervous way that she could not see her doctor because she had no Benefit Card by which to get her prescriptions filled . I suggested she go to HRA where most Social Workers works as if their lives depends on getting help for people who really needs the help.
No good! The pleader began to weep because she hadn't long gotten a card from the Human Resource Administration when she had gotten robbed(robbed because an addict helped her lug her shopping home). She sighed that it was too soon to re-place it. I asked "You got one and can't use it? Why can't you use your ca"
She explained that she accidentally threw it in the garbage when she dumped the two cards from a Health Care Organization that actually mugged her to get her membership.
Diabetic, and full of arthritis, et-al; she had sat on a seldom busy street, glad to find a concrete fence wide enough to sit on until the circulation in her legs would give her some relief from ever present pain. She's sitting there alone with hardly a car passing when two men in a van drove up about a yard from where she sat; she didn't get up to run because she didn't know that the one who got out was coming to her. I confessed that I was trying to figure if she should've tried to run if she was frightened.

She blew her nose and confessed that she wasn't able to run anyway, being that she had trouble walking. One man sat beside her, the other drove right in front of her. She was terrified, but tried to keep her kool. To this day she hasn't signed a ticket for a hot Quarter-pounder from them, but the one who introduced himself and said that he was from Touchstone Care, said it nicely enough for her to not pass out in terror; she tried to get rid of him by saying that she had HealthFirst. He said that his organization was better than HealthFirst and so much other blah-blah. The woman(who should've had a Home Attendant) hasn't signed anything yet because she felt a loyalty to the health care company who signed her up first. The man asked for her ID. She handed him her purse and didn't care if he'd walk away w/it so long as he'd go. He had to see from that, that she was scared but he used her fear to his advantage, there on that scantily traveled street; the scamp! He knew he was being intimidating! When he asked for more ID, this weak little lady mustered up enough nerves to tell this stranger that she just gave him everything about her life to prove that she wasn't hoding anything back, but that she would not sign anything in the streets; he must come to the address he saw on her cards! Said she'd sign at her home. Well, the 'he' went off w/the info he had; never contacting this lady again in person or on a phone, though he had her very cell number; he contacted HealthFirst who proved not to be as loyal to their clients as the clients are to them. And I say this because no one from HealthFirst called this lady in to verify her move from their lists to another. The Touchstone worker got HealthFirst to drop their loyal client who wouldn't use anything Touchstone sent her! But! Because of Touchstone, she has neither their care nor the Care she chose to keep and no Benefits either; the woman has cardiac problems and lives alone. She is walking around dying and there's nothing to be done! In pain every day, but is still going. All I can say every time I think of growing older is "Oh, God! God, I know that there are others somewhere who cares. Unless you die young, you will get old and this kind of thing is nothing to be nonchalant about. What to do, oh Lord?"
All I can do is blog! Just blog and thank God for Google Blog, being there. Will anyone else blog until the governor contacts Congress and Congress contacts the Hill and the Hill reaches down to the side streets and doors of companies that shoves into peoples lives like the robbers who've shoved in this none complainer's life before she found out that some City and State employees do use the weak, the aged and mentally unstable just to move up on the job?
